With five days of much folia, the carnival of Pirapora do Bom Jesus will keep its tradition with balls, parades, the choice of the Queen and King Momo and known canja of the undertow, carried through in the House of the Samba.
The cultural party, that it attracts enthusiastic of some parts of the State, will give to homage the Owner Maria Esther, the great spokesman of the wheels of bumbo of the city, that died in 2017, to the 92 years of age. The city of Pirapora do Bom Jesus is one of the integrant ones of the Cioeste (Intermunicipal Trust of the Region West Metropolitan of São Paulo).

The subject of the festivities in this year is “Carnival 2018 – Tambores and Batuques of Africa to the Cradle of the Samba, Tributo Maria Esther and João of the Grass”. The two important figures of the piraporano samba faleceram in the last year and will be detached during the days of folia.
The intention of the Secretariat of the Culture is to value the groups and the culture of the city, without intervening with the financial management of the City hall. The programming has beginning in the next friday (9/02) and goes until the tuesday (13/02) of the following week. Between Saturday (10/02) and terça, the House of the Samba will serve its traditional one feijoada, with presentations of the Group Samba of Bumbo de Pirapora and other guests.
