Council of Metropolitan Development chooses Doria for president and Elvis Cezar for vice

The Council of Development of the Region Metropolitan of São Paulo chose as president, in the last monday (5/06), the mayor of the city of São Paulo, João Doria, whom she starts to occupy the rank that belonged previously to the mayor of the city of Santana de Parnaíba, Elvis Cezar, elect to assume the vice-presidency of the advice in the new mandate.

Also president of the Cioeste (Intermunicipal Trust of the Region West Metropolitan of São Paulo), Elvis Cezar was supported by mayors of all the regions of the Metropolis, in a meeting of mayors with quorum notable and unknown representation of the cities.


The event that marked the nominations happened in the Square of the Arts, in the São Paulo capital. The managing table was formed by Clodoaldo Pelissioni, state secretary of Transports Metropolitans; Julio Semeghini Grandson, secretary of Government of the city of São Paulo; Samuel Moreira, secretary of the Civil House of the Government of the State; Edmur Mosque, undersecretary of Subjects Metropolitans; Luiz Jose Pedretti, president of the Emplasa (Company Paulista de Planning Metropolitano S.A); Elvis Cezar, current vice-president of the advice; e João Dória, new chairman of the board.

The main purpose of the Council of Development of the Region Metropolitan of São Paulo consists of the viabilization of regional public politics and projects integrated between different sectors and the three levels of government, considering functional fields as: habitation, social attendance, economic development, environment, ambient sanitation and planning and use of the ground.


With 22 million inhabitants, the Region Metropolitan of São Paulo is the biggest polar region of wealth of the country, with Gross Domestic Product (PIB) that it corresponds 18% of the national total.
