Meeting in Mexico congregates governmental bodies and social actors for exchanges of experiences


With the subject “Governance for a low development resiliente and in emissions: articulating governmental agents, sectors and levels for the advance in the implementation of the NDCs (Contributions National Determined)”, 6ª Regional Workshop LEDS LAC was carried through in the City of Mexico between days 16 and 18 of October.

The Cioeste (Intermunicipal Trust of the Region West Metropolitan of São Paulo) participated of the event – that it creates a space for the leverage of the regional development from the consolidation of new alliances and partnerships -, representing the cities that integrate it (Barueri, Carapicuíba, Cotia, Itapevi, Jandira, Osasco, Pirapora do Bom Jesus, Santana de Parnaíba and Vargem Grande Paulista).

6ª Regional Workshop LEDS LAC, that is inserted in the scope of 2ª Week of the Climate of Caribbean Latin America and, had its organized programming in order to prioritize to the maximum the interaction between the participants, being favored exchanges of experiences, sessions of training, identification of common challenges and chances of contribution.

Governmental bodies, international organizations, engaged ONGs and other social actors in the promotion of the sustainable development had participated of the meeting. Organized for the Secretariat of Environment and Natural resources of Mexico (SEMARNAT), for the National Institute of Technology and Climate Changes (INECC) and for Regional Platform LEDS LAC, the event it also offered to the participants the chance to share the results of its successful regional projects between itself, from a “Market of Ideas”.

The presence of the Cioeste in the meeting – that still co-it is organized by the Caf, the Inter-American Bank of Development and Partnership NDC – not only shows the commitment of the trust with the climatic schedule, as well as its including performance and capacity of joint next to international organisms.
